How to Join the Dominican Laity

Please have a look at the exceptional pamphlet by Fr John Rubba, O.P.
The Third Order of Saint Dominic (.pdf)
This promotional work describes the Dominican third order vocation, its history, life and goals. Its' insights are extrodinary and to the point. It will answer all questions you may have on Lay Fraternities. Copies may be found in church book racks and whereever vocational materials are located.

Before joining a lay order in the Catholic church, you should think about the charisms that would draw you to a deeper faith and would be of interest to you in your daily life. The Dominican Laity are especially attached to Mary the Mother of God through her Rosary. They are also drawn to prayer, study, and witness to others. Be prepared to answer the question as to why you feel called to a Dominican vocation.
The minimum qualifications to become a member are:

be at least 18 years old

member in good standing in the church

The final characteristic of a lay Dominican is community. Each member meets at least once a month with the other chapter members at a specific location. Once you have decided to become a member, contact this chapter or contact a chapter in your area.

email the current president of this chapter.
